Rotary Meeting on April 7th 2011
Our speaker today was Jim Clark, Director of the Tarpon Boys and Girls Club and a Tarpon Rotarian. Jim spoke about the continued progress the B&G Club is making. There is an emphasis on the value of giving back to the community; living a healthy life style; homework assistance. He spoke proudly about one of the kids who “grew up” at the club and is now off to college. Thanks, Jim, and keep up the good work.
Joan Tobey spoke about this Saturday’s Paddle to the Party to End Polio Now. The event will take place at Sunset Beach this Saturday, 4/9, and your participation is needed to make it a success. You can come for the Party ($10 a ticket) or come for the race if you have a watercraft that you can paddle. Details Here.
Bob Wilson announced that Astronaut Nicole Scott will talk to the club on April 28th. Bob has arranged for her to speak at the High School earlier that day and then will bring her to Rotary to speak to us. Put it on your calendar.
